The Cremonese violin is one of Stradivari's greatest masterpieces made during his "Golden Era". This violin was once owned by the famous violinist Joseph Joashim and later returned to the Italian city of Cremona in 1961. The choice of wood, pattern, arching, and varnish used to create the sound of the Cremonese is proof of Stradivari's genius. This violin has inspired some of the greatest luthiers in history and continues to be an inspiration to violin makers today. Scott Cao's 1715 Cremonese is unique in the way it combines the sweetness and grandeur of a good Strad while having the depth of a fine del Gesu.
Reproductions of the 1715 Cremonese are available in the STV 750, 850, 950, and 1500 models by Scott Cao. All models of Scott Cao Violins are professionally set up and ready to play. Click here to learn more about the differences between the Scott Cao violin models.
